You can use Speech Pack to speak alert texts to the user, read out a text field and other things like that.
When using 4D Server you can also implement a chat-server. Using alpha-fields you can speak the text someone else put in there and the other way around.
And ofcourse you can read out a complete text file together with the standard 4D command READ PACKET. To read out large files you can open two channels with the same voice and prepare the next piece of text for the second voice while the first voice is still speaking.
Or, if you have a modem with audio input, make your data-base into a answering machine.
If you implement it in any other cool way I'd like to hear from you. Especially if it is implemented for use by people with a speech disability.
